Are you recycling your kitchen waste?

Manawatu Greens held a stall at one of of Palmerston North's Recyling centres, with the theme "Are you recycling your kitchen waste?" We gave out pamphlets on Composting, on how to build you own worm farm, and on Bokashi fermenation composting, along with pocket sized foldup information booklets on what other measures people can take topwards ameliorating Climate change.
It was gratifying to find out that most people who came to the recycling centre are already composting, but there were others who had done so in the past and wanted to start again, and some who were intrigued by the bokashi method. Many who were already composting were keen to get more information or to go one step further and set up a worm farm. Our demonstration of how to build your own worm farm from some old tyres was popular and a good talking point. There was a steady stream of people all day and a good exchange of knowledge.Something to do again.
